Farm Sanctuary’s Walk for Farm Animals

Farm Sanctuary Walk for Change

This Fall, take a stand (and walk) to end the cruel and horrific practices of factory farming!

Farm Sanctuary WalkWALK FOR ANIMALS!

Farm Sanctuary’s Walk for Farm Animals raises vital funds for Farm Sanctuary’s life-saving work and brings together thousands of people to promote kindness towards animals. When you walk, you give hope to billions of farm animals who are suffering right now on factory farms. The Walk for Farm Animals is a positive way to speak out on behalf of animals who cannot speak for themselves and to make a real difference in their lives.

The Walks are a series of annual fundraising and outreach events that take place in cities across the United States and Canada. Find an walk near you. This year, you can join one of Farm Sanctuary’s six Walk Teams or create your own with your friends and family! Check out Team Blitzen, Team Nikki, Team Apollo, and more.

Visit Walk for Farm Animals for details!

Animals need your help whether you’re a morning person or not! If you’re unable to attend your city’s Walk or cannot find aWalk location close to you, you can still join the movement by registering for the Sleep In for Farm Animals ! Participate in this virtual Walk without adding another event to your schedule!

Register for your city’s Walk as a Virtual Walker, whether as an individual, a team, or to “walk” (read “sleep”) for an Animal Ambassador. Of course you can just join the national Sleep In for Farm Animals Virtual Walk too. You’ll still create a personal fundraising page and be eligible to earn great fundraising prizes just as if you walked!

It’s just like being part of an in-person event without having to worry about going to bed early the night before.

Join the Sleep In for Farm Animals today!

Join the Sleep In Facebook community too.

Blog the Change for AnimalsThis post was written for Blog the Change for Animals, a quarterly event hosted by  It’s an opportunity for bloggers and their readers to share their experiences helping animals, to honor an animal advocate who inspires them, to request support for current causes, and to urge folks make a difference.

Please vote for Be the Change for Animals as Best Cause Blog every day through July. Winning a Petties Award means $1000 goes to Best Friends Animal Society and the exposure means a farther reach to help animals.

Thank you!

  1. Sounds like an event this organic family may be able to get behind….I'll pass along to my vegetarian daughter as well.

    • Thanks for spreading the word, Carrie! I too am veggie, but this is one meat eaters can get behind too. I wouldn't want to eat all that bad karma – unhappy animals being brutalized on my behalf. Nobody should stand for it when it doesn't have to be this way.

PS: I think I'm going to do the sleep in. 🙂

  2. What a wonderful event, we will be sure to check it out!

    • I said above that I'll probably do the sleep in, but the truth is, I live somewhat close to Farm Sanctuary. It might be worth the early drive just to meet the animals there! The place, from what I've seen online, is magical.

  3. Great idea! I'll sure look for it in my area. Thanks for writing about it.

  4. Finally! Some fundraising us Not Morning People can get on board with! Not to mention the worthy cause.

  5. Just looked, and there's an event in Albany, October 9th, that I can walk with my dogs! Maybe I'll get out of bed after all!

  6. What a neat idea. I will sleep in for pretty much anything. Thanks for sharing!

  7. Thanks for the heads-up on the walks! I missed the one in my area last year but I just checked and was happy to find that with my travel schedule, I may be able to attend two cities. The "sleep" option made me chuckle but seriously, what a great way to broaden participation!

Really appreciate Blog the Change for Animals. Thanks for this event and for stopping by and reading my post!

  8. Awesome! This is perfect! 🙂 The farm animals need all the love they can get! Thanks for the post and the blog the change event!

  9. Oh Kim. This is awesome! I am so glad you are bringing attention to this issue! I'll likely have to do the virtual walk, but I am participating!

  10. Hi Kim,

Wow. Sleeping in for a cause. Now that's "chillin' activism" ;-)!

I'm glad to see events like this starting to happen. I've viewed some disturbing documentaries about what goes on behind-the-scenes in mainstream farming.

    Thanks for sharing this.

  11. Thanks for raising awareness for such a great cause! Having a "sleep-in" option is so clever and a fantastic way to include those who just might not be able to physically attend. 🙂

  12. Great post! We love the Farm Sanctuary and the work they do!
