Be the Change

Blog the Change for Animals

Blog the Change for AnimalsJust a quick word about Blog the Change for Animals … happening this week and hosted by BtC4animals.com!

The event is July 15th and it works just like the Saturday Blog Hop.  Have a blog?  Write about a cause near and dear to your heart. Inspire your audience to get involved! Then list yourself so everybody can see and support the efforts sweeping throughout our community.

The beauty of Blog the Change, as inspired by the fine folks at BlogPaws, is the sense of community and good will it inspires. BtC4animals.com takes this one step futher. Beyond spinning off toward our own passions with no mechanism to reconnect, the list allows for us to reconvene as a community, to share links, comments, support, ideas and camaraderie.

Get the badge, spread the word, and let’s hop in on it! Read how at BtC4animals.com.

Oh, and these events will take place quarterly.
If you love the feel-good energy it generates like I do, mark your calendars!

Be the Change for Animals

I am excited to announce the launch of a new website today, Be The Change for Animals (BtC4animals.com). Inspired by BlogPaws and sponsored by This One Wild Life (@ThisOneWildLife) and GoPetFriendly (@GoPetFriendly), BtC4Animals will provide their readers with an opportunity to make the world a better place for animals. How cool is that?!

Be the Change for Animals

Why This Website?

With so many worthwhile animal causes to support, it s easy to feel overwhelmed and powerless. By banding together like-minded folks with a strong, collective voice, the goal of BtC4Animals is to ignite and accelerate the change we can make as individuals.

BtC4Animals will highlight one cause per week and provide information on how readers can help. Calls to action won’t require more than 15 minutes to complete and will typically involve actions like signing a petition or participating in a letter-writing campaign. Monetary contributions will not be solicited.

Fido and Wino’s R.O.A.R. Squad

ROAR SquadWHAT’S A R.O.A.R. SQUAD

R.O.A.R. stands for Rescue Owners Are Rockin and this Squad is being assembled by Shauna Stewart from Fido and Wino, a blog where fine dogs (and fine wine) are very much appreciated. “Our goal is to make having a rescue animal THE coolest thing around. Ya game? Perfect! We’d love to have you!”

WHY THE R.O.A.R. SQUAD?

Shauna’s inspiration for this project stems from the love she has for her own rescue dog, the lovely Miss Kayloo, as well as her deep concern for the 6-8 million animals housed in US shelters every year, as estimated by the US Humane Society.

Be the Change Challenge

Bloggers around the globe are writing for rescue animals in need to meet the Be the Change Challenge. Words are powerful inspiration for action. To this end, we’re pushing beyond our own reasons for writing in order to coalesce as a grand force for great, great change.

COMMIT TO A SIMPLE ACT OF KINDNESS

Be The Change

What can one do to Be the Change for animals? Anything! Walk a shelter dog, pet a caged cat, donate time, money, food, resources. Eat dog food. (What? Yes. Dr. V did this on Pawcurious.com during her Hounds for Haiti blogathon.) Do it once. Do it for life. It doesn’t matter. Just do something.

Your act (and mine) is a vital excellerant in an experimental rocket. Forget “shooting the moon.” Together, we’re shooting for Mars. If each of us makes one small step for animals, we can collectively make a giant leap for rescue organizations like AnimalKind (where we adopted two cats) or AnimaLovers (where we’ve fostered and adopted several dogs).
